When one of the leading manufactures in Kenya wanted to import a much-needed piece of equipment from Italy to Kenya, They reached out to us.
1. The challenge
- The cargo was loose and shipper not willing to package it for export.
- The cargo could only fit in a freighter.
- Some parts required dismantling.
- The equipment was LC-financed.
2. The solution
- We collected the loose cargo and delivered to our warehouse near Milano-Malpensa airport.
- Cargo was inspected and pictures shared with consignee before and after packing.
- Packaging for export was carried out with utmost care not even to scratch the surface of the machine.
- We guided the importer on LC documentation and steps including reviewing the draft LC.
- The packaging exercise was completed in 2 days.
- We negotiated for a competitive rate with the airline and saved the consignee Usd 3,560 from the rate that had been shared by the shipper.
- This was possible because we are part of air consolidation network where 90% of agents are IATA certified.
- Cargo arrived at JKIA/NBO where we handled customs clearance within 2 days and delivered the machine to the Consignee.
